After purchasing Jerry Lee Lewis' record entitled Mean old man, dutch piano-player and singer Jeroen Sweers started Them Lewis Boys in 2010 together with bass-player Rene Postma, drummer Daan Slagter and guitar-player Willem de Roode . What started out initially as a tribute to only Jerry Lee Lewis, slowly developed into an ode to all the great piano rockers of the fifties, sixties and seventies.
Songs by Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Little Richard and ofcourse the greatest killer of 'em all Jerry Lee Lewis are now on the bands' setlists. You can also hear the bluesy and soulfull piano play from New Orleans pianists like Dr. John and Allen Toussaint or the rootsy boogie from Pinetop Perkins or Professor Longhair. Each performance is a grand spectacle full of rock'n'roll, blues, roots and boogie.
Frontman Jeroen Sweers played together with dutch boogie woogie greats like Jaap Dekker and Rob Hoeke in theatreshow the Grand Piano Boogie Train. Afterwards he became known for his own Jeroen Sweers Boogie Woogie Band. With Them Lewis Boys their 'no mercy style ' of playing, Jeroen and the band thunder across the stage and burn down each joint where they perform live.
Besides Jeroen his fierce piano playing and straight in the face rock'n'roll singing, you can enjoy the powerfull guitar playing from Willem De Roode (Hayfever), the striking bass by Rene Postma ( North Star, Erwin Nyhoff) and the explosive drums by Daan Slagter.
